Steam On The Met. is a hopefully annual event hosted by London Underground on the Watford branch of the Metropolitan Line,
using up to three steam locomotives assisted by vintage electrical traction.
A free heritage bus service operates from outside Rickmansworth Station through the town to the
Rickmansworth Canal Festival usually held on the same weekends in May
For 1996 the heritage bus service was operated by :-
ALM59B {RM2059}
former London Transport AEC Routemaster type 2/5RM9 new in Oct 1964 with Park Royal H64R body and AEC AV690 engine. The bus currently having the identity of RM2059 is body number B1929 with Leyland engine. Bought for preservation in September 1992 and since May 1993 placed on long term loan to Delaine (Bourne) painted into Delaine livery.
SMK760F {RML2760}
former London Transport AEC Routemaster type 1/7RM7/2 new in Feb 1968 with Park Royal H72R body. Numerically the last Routemaster built for London Transport, privatised to Stagecoach East London in Sept 1994 and kept fully original with AEC engine and unrefurbished interior.

former Brighton Hove & District fleet number (6)447 this 1953 Bristol KSW6G with ECW H32/28R bodywork is owned by BH&D 6447 Group.
